Lessons and carols

Trinity Episcopal Cathedral, 310 W. 17th St., Little Rock, will offer its annual Lessons and Carols service, 4 p.m. today. A musical meditation, choral work or congregational hymn follows each passage from the Bible connected to the birth of Jesus. Arkansas Symphony co-concertmaster, violinist Kiril Laskarov, will participate. The program includes music by Paul Mealor, Carl Rutti, Alan Bullard, Benjamin Britten, Peter Warlock and Morten Lauridsen, plus carols of the season. Admission is free. History programs

The Arkansas Historic Preservation Program's "Walks Through History" program, free guided walking tours of historic structures and districts across Arkansas for 2019 will include (11 a.m. Saturdays, admission is free):

• March 9: Downtown Piggott, co-sponsored by the Hemingway Pfeiffer Museum and Educational Center

• May 18: Harrison Courthouse Square Historic District, co-sponsored by the Boone County Heritage Museum

• Sept. 21: Lake Village Historic District, co-sponsored by the Lakeport Plantation and the Lake Village Chamber of Commerce

• Nov. 9: Calico Rock Historic District, co-sponsored by the Calico Rock Museum.

And the program's "Sandwiching in History" tour series of Pulaski County structures and sites:
