Suspect arrested in LR bank holdup
A man has been arrested in the armed holdup of a Little Rock bank Wednesday morning, police said.
Robert Chatman, 36, of Little Rock faces one count of aggravated robbery, according to records.
Police say Chatman entered the Arvest Bank branch at 10206 Mabelvale Plaza Drive around 8:45 a.m. and brandished a knife in a demand for money.
Bank employees were at one point able to call authorities, and officers arrested Chatman at the scene a short time later.
The knife was found, according to authorities.
Records show that Chatman was in the Pulaski County jail as of Wednesday afternoon, and bail had not been set.
Accused reported to punch 2 jailers
A North Little Rock man accused of stabbing his girlfriend attacked two law enforcement officials while being booked into jail, records show.
Casey Anderson, 29, faces charges of second-degree battery and third-degree domestic battery, according to North Little Rock Police Department reports.
Anderson was initially arrested around 11:50 p.m. Tuesday in the 1400 block of Maple Street after a reported dispute ended in Anderson's girlfriend being stabbed with a chisel in her right shoulder, authorities said.
Police said Anderson also struck his girlfriend's daughter in the lip with a closed fist.
While responding to the reported domestic dispute, police found a pistol in the yard and a shotgun inside the home, reports said. Both weapons had been reported stolen, according to police.
As an officer escorted him into the jail's intake center and closed the door about 1 a.m. Wednesday, Anderson spun around and struck two officials in the face with a closed fist, the report states.
Authorities said one jail official was knocked to the ground during the scuffle.
Anderson was in the Pulaski County jail as of Wednesday morning. He has a court appearance scheduled for today.
Woman, 22, beaten in dispute over $10
A Little Rock woman was beaten, robbed and pulled out of a vehicle early Wednesday after a dispute with an acquaintance over $10, she told police.
The 22-year-old said she got into a white vehicle around 5 a.m. with three other people she regularly spends time with, the report shows.
She said a person whom she knows only as "Marcus" mentioned the $10 she had borrowed from him a couple of months ago. The woman told him she didn't have the money to pay him back and that the $20 she had on her was for her grandmother, according to police.
"Marcus" began punching her in the face, the report states, then he and a woman pulled her out of the vehicle near South University Avenue and Berkshire Drive.
The pair took the $20 and her red Air Jordan shoes, the 22-year-old told officers, then they got back in the vehicle and drove off.
Police noted that the woman had facial injuries and that the white four-door vehicle was possibly a Mercury Grand Marquis.
In addition to "Marcus," a woman was named as a suspect in the report. No one with those names had been booked into the Pulaski County jail as of Wednesday morning, according to the online inmate roster.
