Authorities are investigating after a jar containing human remains was found in a Little Rock home Wednesday.
While doing an annual termite inspection at a home in the 9800 block of Treasure Hill Road, a worker told police, he found the jar partially buried by hard-packed dirt in a crawl space only accessible from inside the house.
A coroner dug out the jar and identified the remains as that of a 15- to 20-week-old fetus, authorities said. The jar appeared to have been buried for multiple years, according to the report.
The remains have been transported to the state Crime Lab for further analysis, police said.
The home is on the market for lease but has been occupied by the same residents since October 2016, according to the report.
