A central Arkansas man was arrested at a lingerie shop after stabbing someone with a knife during a fight Thursday night, police said.

Landon Mercer, 36, of Conway faces a charge of first-degree battery, records show.

An officer was called around 9:35 p.m. to a residence on Southeastern Avenue in reference to an aggravated assault with a knife, according to a Jacksonville Police Department report.

Inside the home’s kitchen, police found the victim with a 6- to 7-inch-long laceration on his left forearm and blood surrounding him. The cut was reportedly 2 to 3 inches wide.

Police noted a towel was wrapped around the wound, and an officer applied a tourniquet to the injured man's arm.

The victim said he and Mercer got into an argument that resulted in Mercer pulling a knife on him and stabbing him, the report states.

A witness told police that he saw the victim "bleeding profusely" and Mercer holding a knife. Mercer fled when that witness pulled out a knife, authorities said.

Mercer was arrested late Thursday at Cupids Lingerie, 6111 John Harden Drive in Cabot, according to authorities.

Records show Mercer remained at the Pulaski County jail as of Friday morning, and bail has been set at $20,000. He has a court date scheduled for Feb. 15.
