A large pothole that developed on Interstate 40 and a wreck on Interstate 30 caused major traffic delays Tuesday morning near the interchange where the two highways meet.

The Arkansas Department of Transportation said shortly after 7:30 a.m. that crews were en route to fix the large pothole in the eastbound left lane of I-40 east of I-30. That lane was reopened about an hour later.

Separately, a collision was reported about 7:45 a.m. on I-30 eastbound just before the I-40 interchange. That wreck was blocking the left and middle lanes before it was cleared around 8:15 a.m.

The Arkansas Online live traffic map showed significant backups on both interstates for some time Tuesday morning.

It wasn't known if anyone was injured in the crash. Live video on the Department of Transportation website showed fire trucks and an ambulance at the scene.
