A Little Rock executive chef and his Japanese ramen dishes appeared on CBS This Morning on Friday.

Coby Smith of Coby’s at Arkansas Heart Hospital, 1701 S. Shackleford Road, was featured in a piece on the cafe-cafeteria, according to a spokeswoman for the hospital.

Smith was born and raised in North Little Rock. Michelle Rupp, director of communications for the hospital, said Smith has been working at there for four-and-a-half years and leads a team of 40 in the kitchen.

CBS This Morning filmed the segment in October, the spokeswoman said.

The cafeteria serves ramen for $5 a bowl Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m.

"For me, and the hospital, it is great exposure," Smith said. "We don’t do it for the money. This is something for the community. We have a couple hundred people who would never step foot in the hospital but come on a regular basis for the $5 ramen."

The segment — which highlights a variety of dishes such as Smith's pork belly ramen bowl with poached egg, cilantro, green and pickled onions — will air during the show's 8:30 a.m. to 9 a.m. section on CBS sometime next week.
