A former Arkansas resident has been sentenced to a decade in prison after pleading guilty to a manslaughter charge in a fatal wreck.

Vickey Miracle Dean, 32, was initially charged with negligent homicide in a January 2016 crash that left 63-year-old William C. Johnston of Royal dead, the Hot Springs Sentinel-Record reported.

Dean, who once lived in Hot Springs, currently lists a Charlotte, N.C., address, according to the newspaper.

Dean also reportedly must pay a $1,500 fine.

The charge against Dean, who was found to have methamphetamine in her system at the time of the wreck, was amended because there is no set limit regarding drug intoxication, Deputy Prosecutor Ron Jones told the Sentinel-Record.

The three-vehicle crash happened around 5:15 a.m. Jan. 15, 2016, as Dean, driving a 2004 Dodge pickup west on U.S. 270, tried to turn left onto Hildreth Road, an investigation determined.

Dean hit the front of an eastbound 2009 Hyundai driven by Johnston, causing Johnson’s vehicle to catch fire, according to the newspaper.

An eastbound 2015 Buick Enclave, driven by 71-year-old Arvin L. Williams of Benton, also hit the rear of Johnston’s vehicle, authorities said.

Johnston did not exit his vehicle and was found with "extensive thermal charring," according to a case affidavit cited by the Sentinel-Record. He was pronounced dead at the scene.

Dean was reportedly injured and taken to CHI St. Vincent Hot Springs, where blood was drawn for analysis. Blood results showed she had meth in her system.
