Northwest Arkansas airport to offer new nonstop flight to Florida city

A new nonstop route via Allegiant Air from Northwest Arkansas Regional Airport to Destin, Fla., will take flight this summer, the airport said Tuesday.

In a statement, the Bentonville-based airport said the service, which launches June 6, will provide travelers with one-way fares starting as low as $68.

“We appreciate the fact that our partners at Allegiant recognize the need for this service, and we thank them for their continued support and commitment to our community,” airport director Kelly Johnson said in a statement.

The seasonal flights to Destin-Fort Walton Beach will operate twice weekly, officials said.

“We’re sure that area residents will take advantage of this convenient, nonstop service to enjoy all that Destin and the surrounding area have to offer,” said Lukas Johnson, Allegiant’s senior vice president of commercial.

With the Destin option, Allegiant now offers four nonstop flights from the Northwest Arkansas airport.
