WASHINGTON -- President Donald Trump's personal attorney said Tuesday that he paid $130,000 out of his own pocket to a porn actress who allegedly had a sexual relationship with Trump in 2006.

Michael Cohen said in a statement to The New York Times that he was not reimbursed by the Trump Organization or the Trump campaign for the payment to Stormy Daniels, whose real name is Stephanie Clifford.

Cohen wrote, "The payment to Ms. Clifford was lawful, and was not a campaign contribution or a campaign expenditure by anyone."

Cohen told the Times that he had delivered a similar statement to the Federal Election Commission in response to a complaint filed by Common Cause, a watchdog group.

Common Cause had asked the commission to investigate the source of the $130,000 payment and determine whether it represented an excessive campaign contribution. Cohen told the Times, "The allegations in the complaint are factually unsupported and without legal merit."

The Wall Street Journal reported in January that Cohen had arranged the payment to Clifford in October 2016 to keep her from publicly discussing, during the presidential campaign, the alleged sexual encounter.

Yes, because we all know attorneys who are willing to shell out their personal money to help us out of a jam. They just gift us the cash. No need to sign any paperwork. No obligation to pay the money back. They will just give us the cash out of the goodness of their hearts. Sleazeball.

If they are paying folks to not make up stories, they can pay me $130,000 too, to not make up a story. I believe Cohen's claim 100% and just want my payoff.

Sadly, there are Trump trolls so gullible they will actually buy this along with the ones who will pretend to.

The only way this lawyer paid Ms. Stormy out of his own pocket is if he was the one that got caught having an affair with her. Again, if Trump would just tell the truth, this would almost be a non-issue. But the lies and the cover-up will get you every time. Too bad Trump's daddy didn't beat that into him as a child.

Obviously, it was hush money. More and more it appears DDD was paid to sign the letter denying what she had previously claimed about "doing" The Donald. My guess is Trump got a little too friendly with DDD and that may have included both of them getting neekid in the hot tub. DDD starts blabbing about it to friends and Trump has his lawyer take care of it. Agree with hah.

Serious problems can arise from this apparent breach of campaign finance laws and related nondisclosure issues.

Oh, this is just a little egg on their face. Nothing to see here. Just porn star pay-offs.
