Authorities in Arkansas have arrested two people, including the victim's mother, after a 17-year-old was shot in the face Wednesday.
The shooting took place in the 400 block of Ryan Road in Pearcy, according to a news release from the Garland County sheriff's office.
The victim was found in a vehicle with his mother, 37-year-old Lessie Galo, as well as 18-year-old Keonte Rauls, both of whom were taken into custody, the sheriff's office said.
Rauls was charged with first-degree battery, while Galo was arrested on outstanding warrants and two firearms violations for weapons she was found to be in possession of, the release states.
