One of the better junior prospects in Oklahoma, defensive end Trace Ford, gave a big thumbs-up to his visit to Arkansas on Sunday.

Ford (6-3, 225 pounds) of Santa Fe High School in Edmond, has scholarship offers from Memphis, Iowa State, Arkansas State and Cornell. He is drawing interest from Arkansas, Texas, Oklahoma and others.

Ford and multiple others attended the Hogs’ Prospect Day on Sunday.

“The scenery was extremely pretty and just the environment was pleasant,” Ford said. “I like the lounge in the locker room and the hydrotherapy with the lap pool — was just really fun to see and seeing the nutrition plan and all the food they offer was really cool to see.

“The indoor practice facility was gorgeous.”

Ford recorded 40 tackles, 7 tackles for loss, 1 sack, 4 quarterback hurries, 5 pass deflections, 5 forced fumbles and a recovered fumble as a junior. He said tight ends coach Barry Lunney Jr. told him the staff likes his ability.

“Just how the coaches have seen my film and how they are excited about and me and hearing great things,” said Ford, who reports running 4.55 seconds in the 40-yard dash.

Ford has a 250-pound bench press, 405 squat and 255 power clean. He would like to make another trip to Fayetteville.

“If I get the chance of course,” Ford said.

He has visited Memphis and has plans to make trips to Texas and Oklahoma this weekend.
