Police: In Little Rock home invasion, gunman breaks into room with children inside, later fires shots

An intruder broke into a Little Rock home through a window Thursday night and stole money and personal documents, victims told police.

Officers responded to a home in the 300 block of South Oak Street about 11:50 p.m., where a 17-year-old girl said she was in her mother's room with her 8-year-old brother and 4-year-old sister when she heard a loud banging noise at the window, according to a report.

The girl said the window busted out and a male stranger fell into the room, so she grabbed her siblings and ran out of the home, hearing gunshots behind her, she told police.

The intruder left with her purse, which contained $40 in cash as well as credit and debit cards and car keys, according to the report.

The 17-year-old's mother told officers the two were sitting in the living room when the intruder came out of the bedroom holding a small handgun.

"Where all the money at?" he reportedly asked, pointing the weapon at her.

The woman told him there was no money, prompting him to grab a tote bag of personal documents from the bedroom and leave, she said.

Police have named no suspects, and no arrests had been made at the time of the report.
