Man fatally shot in parking lot of Arkansas hotel, police say; 34-year-old sought

Police are investigating a shooting outside an Arkansas hotel Thursday evening that left a man dead.

Fort Smith officers responded to a call around 6:45 p.m. of a man found lying on the ground in the parking lot of the River Valley Inn, 5103 Towson Ave.

At the scene, authorities discovered Ethan Meagley, 27, suffering from a single gunshot wound, according to a news release.

Meagley was taken to a nearby hospital but later died, the Police Department said.

An preliminary investigation reportedly revealed that the 27-year-old was shot during an altercation in the parking lot.

Police are searching for 34-year-old Christopher Neil Walker, who is considered to be armed and dangerous. During the investigation, a 19-year-old and a 27-year-old were arrested on unrelated warrants, police said.
