A registered sex offender living in Arkansas was arrested on a murder charge Friday in a nearly 16-year-old case in another state, police said.
The Cumberland County sheriff's office in North Carolina told Fort Smith police that Isaac Micah McDonald, 42, was a suspect in the April 2002 crime, according to a news release from the department.
McDonald was indicted on a first-degree murder charge Monday, with a warrant issued out of Cumberland County, police said.
The 42-year-old was arrested Friday at his Fort Smith home, the release states. As of that afternoon, he was awaiting extradition at the Sebastian County jail, records show.
