ALL THAT JAZZ

'20s come rip-roaring back at chapter's 23rd Ivy Ball

The 23rd annual Ivy Ball, An Evening at Club 1905 Where a Little Party Never Hurt Anybody, was held Feb. 10 at the Embassy Suites. The jazzy 1920s-theme ball was presented by the Beta Pi Omega chapter of Alpha Kappa Alpha and the Ivy Foundation of Little Rock.

Dapper gentlemen and women looking like the bee's knees in cocktail dresses, long loops of pearls and jeweled headbands enjoyed a silent auction, dinner, a program and later dancing to music by The Rodney Block Collective.

Guests were welcomed to the event by Ivy Foundation president Tjuana Byrd and Beta Pi Omega chapter president Melanie Hillard. They spoke about how funds raised at the event benefit the community through scholarships and programs including Ascend, an academic enrichment and life skills program for youth in grades 9-12.

Rosalyn Middleton served as Ivy Ball chairman.
