The George Billingsley Northwest Arkansas Razorback Club's annual Signing Day on the Hill on Feb. 7 was an opportunity for many Razorback fans to meet new head football coach Chad Morris and hear about the 2018 recruiting class.

Morris told those gathered at the Northwest Arkansas Convention Center in Springdale: "Tonight is about celebrating the class of 2018 -- the RazorFast class -- and the chance to be part of something great ... We're going to build something that will be a model for everyone else to follow."

Crystal Bridges Museum of American Art welcomed patrons and artists Feb. 10 for a preview and Director's Reception to mark the launch of the Soul of a Nation: Art in the Age of Black Power temporary exhibition in Bentonville.

Rod Bigelow, museum executive director and chief diversity and inclusion officer, told guests the exhibition "shines a bright light on the vital contribution of black artists on an important period in American history. Fifteen of the artists featured in this exhibition are here with us tonight, and together, we share this rare opportunity to view their work along with others that helped to change the face of art in America."

Ancillary activities associated with the exhibition include a Spotlight Talk: African-American Athletes in Arkansas, Feb. 28, and Performance Lab: The Last Poets, March 2. Guided tours of the exhibition are available from 1 to 2 p.m. Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays through April 23, the final day of the exhibition.

The exhibition originated from the Tate Modern in London, and Crystal Bridges is the first of only two stops, the other the Brooklyn Museum, in North America.

Those previewing the exhibition included Esther Silver-Parker, Tony Waller, Deborah Wright, Twilla Brooks, Tracy Brown, Emily and James Bost, Denise Garner, Garbo and Archie Hearne, Auna Hearne, C.J. Duvall, Dana Chandler and Alice Walton, museum founder and board chairwoman.
