Remodeled Maumelle library to reopen

The Central Arkansas Library System branch in Maumelle will reopen March 12 after a $1.95 million remodeling and expansion, according to a system news release.

A reopening ceremony with city officials will take place at the library, 10 Lake Pointe Drive, at 11 a.m. March 30, the announcement said.

A 1,377-square-foot addition to the Maumelle library includes five new study rooms and an additional meeting room. Space also was reallocated in the existing building for a children's program room, the news release said.

Other features included in the renovation are an upgraded heating and air system, LED lighting, new interior finishes and additional parking.

Funds for the renovation and additions came from bonds issued in December 2016 by the Maumelle Facilities Board.
