Destiney McClain scored 14 points and grabbed 10 rebounds as the Lady Miners defeated the Lady Panthers in the championship game of the 7-4A Tournament at Joe T. Robinson in Little Rock. McClain, who scored 12 of her points in the second half, tied Shelby Chavers for team-high scoring honors. Bailey Buffington and Lauren Bainter each added 10 points. Bainter finished with nine rebounds. Ashdown’s Adaysia Thompson scored 15 points and collected 14 rebounds, while teammate Lark Wilkerson had 13 points.

Taylor Wells’ three-pointer with 1:40 to play was the difference as the Lady Wolves held off the Lady Panthers in the opening round of the 6A-West Conference Tournament in Benton. Jenny Peake led Lake Hamilton with 11 points, while Logan Keener scored seven points and grabbed nine rebounds. Benton’s Makenzy Davidson scored 16 points and grabbed 10 rebounds, but her three-point attempt at the buzzer rimmed out. Rhema Riley collected 11 rebounds.
