2 men plead guilty to animal cruelty in reported abuse at Arkansas home

Two of three people charged in the reported abuse of animals at a home they lived at in southwest Arkansas have pleaded guilty.

The Texarkana Gazette reported that 25-year-old William Lake Evans pleaded guilty earlier this month to a charge of animal cruelty.

In December, Tyler Blaine Green, 21, also pleaded guilty to an animal cruelty charge and was sentenced to one year of probation, records show. He was also ordered to pay a $500 fine.

On Sept. 18, animal control officers visited a residence in the 300 block of Laurel Street in Texarkana in reference to an emergency call about animals not having food and water.

There, authorities found a pit bull with its ribs, spine and pelvic bones visible. Another dog was also found in “less than adequate condition,” the Gazette reported, citing the affidavit.

During the execution of a search warrant Sept. 22, officers removed an ailing goat and two dogs, according to the newspaper. The goat later died in veterinary care.

Also facing a charge of animal cruelty in the case is Green’s 24-year-old wife, Victoria Anderson. Her trial is set for May.
