Police released these surveillance images showing a man suspected of breaking into the Academy Sports in west Little Rock and stealing at least one gun.

Two AR-15-style rifles were stolen from a sporting goods store in west Little Rock late Sunday night, police said.

Authorities determined that the thief used some kind of cutting or prying tool to enter through the rear door of the Academy Sports at 11400 W. Markham St., according to a police report. It happened about 11:30 p.m.

The store's security footage shows the burglar enter the sales floor, head directly to the gun counter and remove from the rack two AR-15-style rifles, police said.

The same type of gun has been used in some of America's deadliest mass shootings, including at a rampage at a Florida high school on Wednesday that left 17 people dead.

The initial report states that one gun was taken, but investigators said later they believe the intruder left with two.

Police have named no suspects, and no arrests had been made at the time of the report.
