Little Rock police on Tuesday arrested a 46-year-old man in the robbery of a downtown bank, a police spokesman said.

Lt. Michael Ford identified Todd Curry as the suspect in the robbery of a U.S. Bank branch at 401 W. Capitol Ave.

Authorities were called about 2:20 p.m. Tuesday after the robber went into the bank with a note demanding money and implied that he was armed, according to officer Steve Moore, another police spokesman.

According to Ford, an off-duty officer recognized the suspect and made the arrest Tuesday evening at the River Cities Travel Center, which is located less than a half-mile from the bank branch.

The amount of money stolen wasn't disclosed.
