Pedestrian struck, injured near Oaklawn; driver cited, police say

A 77-year-old man was injured Wednesday after he was struck by a vehicle in Hot Springs, The Sentinel-Record reported.

It happened shortly before 9 a.m. as Eligio Pascual tried to cross Higdon Ferry Road near Oaklawn Racing and Gaming, officer Joey Williams with the city's Police Department told the newspaper. A 2002 Honda Accord driven by Keasha Morgan, 21, of Hot Springs was headed south and struck Pascual, Williams said.

The pedestrian was reportedly taken to a nearby hospital for his injuries.

The Sentinel-Record reported that Morgan was cited on charges of driving on a suspended driver's license and failure to yield to a pedestrian.
