A deputy was injured Friday morning after his vehicle slid off a wet Arkansas highway, authorities said.

According to a Facebook post from the Logan County sheriff’s office, Deputy Skylar McElroy was responding to a report of a break-in at a residence when his vehicle left Arkansas 217 south of Booneville about 2 a.m.

McElroy was taken to a nearby hospital and treated for minor injuries, the agency wrote.

Sheriff Boyd Hicks said additional deputies were sent to the home but were unable to locate anyone.
