He rode Eskimo Kisses in the featured eighth race over 1 1/16 miles to the finish line over First Alternate and Sydney Freeman and paid $15.20, $3.80 and $3.80. In the ninth, Canchari took Mandy's Grace to the winner's circle after a 4-length victory over La Fee Verte and Lady Warrior. Mandy's Grace went off at 3-1 and paid $8, $5.60 and $3.40.

RED RUBY PLANS

Red Ruby is pointing for the $200,000 Honeybee Stakes for 3-year-old fillies March 10 at Oaklawn, trainer Kellyn Gorder said. A lightly raced daughter of Tiznow, Red Ruby was a 2 ½-length winner of the $125,000 Martha Washington Stakes on Feb. 10 at Oaklawn in her last start. The 1-mile Martha Washington marked the 3-year-old and stakes debut for Red Ruby, who races for her breeders, Brandi Nicholson and Sandra Sexton. "She came out of her race real good," Gorder said Monday. "She came back to the track after a couple of days of walking and was full of energy. Probably going to get just two official breezes before her next one." Red Ruby has won 2 of 3 career starts, including a maiden special weights event Nov. 25 on Churchill Downs' "Stars of Tomorrow II" card. All three of Red Ruby's starts have been routes. "We're pretty excited about it," Gorder said.

AZERI FOR STREAMLINE

Multiple Oaklawn stakes winner Streamline is scheduled to make her next start in the $350,000 Azeri Stakes for older fillies and mares March 17, trainer Brian Williamson said Sunday morning. Streamline has raced in Oaklawn's last 10 two-stakes races for older fillies and mares, never finishing worse than third. Streamline won the $100,000 Pippin Stakes in 2016, the 2017 Azeri and Saturday's $150,000 Bayakoa Stakes over a sloppy surface under Hall of Fame jockey Gary Stevens. The 1 1/16-mile Azeri is the final major local prep for the $700,000 Apple Blossom Handicap on April 13. "That's the plan," Williamson said. "We're here to run."

CLYDESDALES COMING

The world famous Budweiser Clydesdales are scheduled to make several appearances in the Hot Springs area March 16 and 17, including one at Oaklawn in conjunction with Rebel Stakes Weekend and World's Shortest St. Patrick's Day Parade. The eight-horse hitch will be harnessed and hitched to the famous red beer wagon at Oaklawn March 16 and will parade before the crowd between the fifth and sixth races. The Clydesdales will exit the track and be stationed in the Infield and the public is invited to visit them. The eighth race will be called the Clydesdale Cup in honor of the animals, and representatives from Budweiser will be presenting a special trophy to the winning connections.

Information for this report was contributed by the Oaklawn media department.
