Little Rock's CBS affiliate will add a new meteorologist to its weather team in March, the station said Friday.

Nathan Scott, a Maryland native, most recently worked at WAPT, an ABC affiliate in Jackson, Miss. He will appear on KTHV's weekend evening shows.

Before that, he worked in east Tennessee, according to the station, and covered that area when 13 tornadoes tore through the community.

"Nathan is a self-admitted scientist who loves breaking down the weather so that it relates to everyone," KTHV news director Dave Parker said. "He's handled himself very well in previous severe weather instances and will bring all that experience to folks here in central Arkansas."

Scott will work alongside chief meteorologist Ed Buckner as well as Mariel Ruiz and Raven Richard on the weather team. Ruiz is now a co-host of THV 11 This Morning, replacing Tom Brannon, the station previously said.
