A 53-year-old parolee has been arrested in a pair of break-ins at downtown Little Rock restaurants, including one in which a bottle of alcohol was stolen, authorities said.

Patrick Duane Smith faces charges that include commercial burglary, criminal mischief and theft of property in the burglaries at Dugan's Pub, 401 E. 3rd St., and Wasabi at 101 Main St.

An employee at Wasabi told authorities around 5:50 a.m. Tuesday that an intruder broke the front glass door at some point after the business closed the night before, according to a report filed in that case. The burglar reportedly made off with a bottle of Jack Daniels.

Around 6 a.m., police responded to a burglary in progress at Dugan's. A witness reported he heard glass breaking and then followed a suspect.

Officers located the suspect, later identified as Smith, at 100 Ottenheimer Plaza.

Police said video linked Smith to the Dugan's break-in. A report didn't indicate anything was taken in that case.

Online records show Smith is on parole through 2023.
