Concern and thanks
Many years ago on Christmas Eve, I remember my dad climbing up on the roof to adjust the "rabbit ears" for the TV--with my mother and me watching and praying.
And, then that same Christmas Eve, my husband was in Vietnam and my dad spent almost all night putting together a Barbie Dream House for my daughter--his granddaughter. But, best of all, my husband's telephone call on Christmas Day.
I spent a lot of time those days saying prayers of concern and thanksgiving.
These memories happened in Russellville--a place I will always cherish.

Will do what is right
A gentleman does not lose his gentleness because he's in prison, and gentleness does not go away because you're wearing a uniform. But all right-eous men will do what's right, for all authority comes from God.

Peace in the new year
With the song "Let there be peace on earth and let it begin with me" in mind, my new year's resolutions are:
(l) Look people in the eye, and smile at them.
(2) Before criticizing someone, examine myself first and be sure I'm not guilty of the same thing.
(3) Stop flipping people off in traffic situations.
(4) Stop running red lights when no one is looking.
Numbers 3 and 4 will be the hardest.

My reason for fear
What is an empleomaniac? An empleomaniac is an individual who is overly eager to hold political public office. I believe someone who is overeager to obtain public office obviously falls into one of three categories:
The individual is inherently corrupt and seeks to make a fortune at the taxpayers’ expense.
The individual is delusional enough to believe that he or she can actually make a difference.
The individual is completely insane.
I’ve been an ardent observer and pundit of politics for years. I have come to beware of an empleomaniac.
