Sara Matilde Massana became the bride of Edmond Garland Hurst at sunset Saturday, Dec. 30, in Cardedeu Chapel, Santa Ana, El Salvador. Timothy Grimes officiated

The bride is the daughter of Sara Trejo and the granddaughter of Esperanza and Jose Reynaldo Trejo, all of Santa Tecla, El Salvador.

Parents of the groom are Susan Dee Hurst of Little Rock and the late Steven "Garland" Hurst. He is the grandson of Joline Hurst of Piggott, the late Garland Hurst and the late Lula and E. Dana Akerman of Findley, Ohio.

The open-air chapel's benches were decorated with bouquets of white snapdragons and roses. Tall vases filled with water and submerged white flowers decorated the altar area and a large white arrangement of hydrangeas, lisianthus and roses was on the altar table. Music was by a string quartet from the Orchestra Chamber of San Salvador.

Escorted by her grandfather, the bride wore a Rococo-style inspired gown, embellished with lace, embroidery and moonstone beading. She carried a bouquet of lisianthus, hydrangeas, snapdragons and roses.

Bridesmaids were Esperanza Massana, sister of the bride, and Erin Launius, both of Little Rock; Carmen Trejo, cousin of the bride, and Monica Alvarez, both of Austin, Texas; and Glinda Escobar of San Salvador. They wore burgundy gowns and carried smaller versions of the bridal bouquet. Flower girl was Lauren Stiefvater of Bigelow, niece of the groom.

Groomsmen were E. Garland Hurst Jr. of Little Rock, son of the groom; Oscar Massana of Santa Tecla, brother of the bride; Jose Reynaldo Trejo of Santa Tecla, cousin of the bride; Christopher Crain of Little Rock; and James Stiefvater of Bigelow.

A garden reception at Cardedeu at Lake Coatepeque in Santa Ana, El Salvador, was held after the ceremony. Guest tables were covered with gold tablecloths and centered with arrangements of lisianthus, hydrangeas, snapdragons and roses.

The bride has a bachelor's degree in business and marketing from the University of Central Arkansas in Conway where she was a member of Delta Zeta, and has taken graduate classes in business at the University of Arkansas at Little Rock. She is a product manager at First Orion.

The groom has a bachelor's degree in business administration from UALR and is an investment banker at Crews & Associates.

The couple will honeymoon in Costa Rica and later in the year take a wedding trip to Greece. They will reside in Little Rock.
