Little Rock police on Saturday arrested the 18-year-old they say acted as a driver in two armed convenience store holdups on New Year's Day.

Department spokesman officer Steve Moore confirmed that Edmundo Sanchez of Mabelvale was involved in the robberies at Supermercado Sin Fronteras, 4918 Baseline Road, and the Exxon station at 8724 Colonel Glenn Road.

Sanchez is charged with two counts of aggravated robbery and two counts of felony property theft. He was being at the Pulaski County jail held in lieu of $15,000 bond as of Monday afternoon.

Makala Colin, the 18-year-old who police say pointed a gun at employees of both businesses in the two holdups and stole candy during one, was arrested early Thursday.

Another 18-year-old man was named in one of the reports as a suspect in the robberies, but police do not have a warrant out for his arrest, Moore said. The investigation is ongoing.
