Keimeshia Walker and Amber Hunt both scored 13 points to lead Alabama State (4-11, 2-2 SWAC) to a victory over the University of Arkansas at Pine Bluff on Monday night in Montgomery, Ala.
Alabama State led 14-9 after the first quarter, 31-23 at halftime and 50-36 after three quarters in a game it never trailed.
Alabama State shot 47.9 percent (23 of 48) from the floor while making 7 of 12 three-pointers. The Hornets outrebounded the Lions 38-31, had 18 points in the lane and 11 on second-chance opportunities. Despite committing 21 turnovers to UAPB's 12, Alabama State scored 23 points off turnovers.
UAPB (3-10, 1-2) was led by Malik Muhammad, who had 10 points. As a team, UAPB shot 14 of 52 from the floor (26.9 percent), including 3 of 19 on three-pointers.

UAPB 94, ALABAMA STATE 68
Martaveous McKnight scored 24 points with 9 assists and 6 rebounds, and Terrance Banyard had 20 points and 9 rebounds in leading the University of Arkansas at Pine Bluff (3-14, 3-0 SWAC) to a victory over Alabama State in Montgomery, Ala., on Monday night.
Joe'Randle Toliver had 15 points and 5 rebounds, and Travon Harper had 11 points and 4 rebounds for the Golden Lions.
UAPB shot 57.9 percent (33 of 57) from the floor while holding Alabama State to 37.3 percent (25 of 67), including 6 of 23 on three-pointers. UAPB won despite being outrebounded 42-35.
Jacoby Ross led Alabama State (2-14, 2-2) with 23 points. Rodney Simeon and Branden Johnson had 12 points apiece.
