Clerk shot during robbery at Arkansas gas station, police say

A clerk was wounded by gunfire in a holdup at an Arkansas gas station on Wednesday evening, authorities said.

The robber entered the Shell station at 2310 S. Olive St. in Pine Bluff about 6:30 p.m. and demanded money, police spokesman Richard Wegner said.

According to Wegner, the assailant fired his weapon, hitting the cashier in the leg. The employee's injuries were not believed to be life-threatening, he said.

The gunman reportedly fled with an unknown amount of cash.

No arrests have been made and police haven't named a suspect.
