Foundation lauds student-athletes

The Razorback Foundation and fans will laud six accomplished student-athletes representing five sports at the 21st annual Red Tie Gala Salute to Excellence on Feb. 3 at the John Q. Hammons Center in Rogers. The organization will recognize those "whose performance throughout their career raised their respective sport to new heights while striving to uphold the athletic department's character goals."

• Frank Ragnow, football;

• Mason Overstreet, men's golf;

• Maria Fassi, women's golf;

• Jessi Hartzler, soccer; and

• Taliyah Brooks, women's track and field.

The black (red)-tie optional benefit will begin with cocktails and a silent auction at 5:30 p.m., live auction at 7 p.m. and dinner and program at 7:30 p.m. The evening also will include balloon prizes, Razorback Ring toss, a photo booth, and guests will have to opportunity to visit with Razorback coaches and athletic department staff members.

Proceeds from the evening will support the foundation's work to provide "financial support for scholarships, facilities and various programs that enable student-athletes to realize their dreams of achieving a quality college education while participating in athletics on a nationally competitive level."
