GEORGIA 78, ARKANSAS 65

Georgia used an 8-0 run midway through the fourth quarter to break open a game to defeat the University of Arkansas, Fayetteville at Stegeman Coliseum in Athens, Ga.

After Malicia Monk made a jumper with 5:27 to play to close a three-point deficit it to 61-60, Georgia’s Callya Robinson made two layups to make it 65-60. Gabby Connally made a three-pointer with 2:59 left to make it 68-60. Arkansas’ Bailey Zimmerman answered with a three-pointer 19 seconds later to get the Razorbacks to 68-63, but Taja Cole made two free throws with 2:02 left and Arkansas never got any closer.

Robinson and Mackenzie Engram led the Bulldogs (15-2, 3-1 SEC) with 21 points apiece. Robinson added 12 rebounds, while Engram had eight rebounds. Connally had 13 points.

Monk led Arkansas (10-7, 1-3) with 16 points while making 8 of 11 free throws. Jailyn Mason had 15 points and Zimmerman added 11.

ARKANSAS STATE 55

Taeler Deer finished with 24 points, 6 rebounds and 3 assists to lead Texas State (11-5, 4-1 Sun Belt) over Arkansas State University at First National Bank Arena in Jonesboro.

Toshua Leavitt added 16 points and Ericka May finished with 11 points and 14 rebounds as Texas State shot 42.9 percent (27 of 63) from the floor and won despite making 6 of 14 free throws. Akahsa Westbrook led the Red Wolves (8-8, 2-2) with 19 points, 7 rebounds and 2 assists. Lauren Bradshaw had 11 points and 14 rebounds.

The Red Wolves shot 33.3 percent (19 of 57) from the floor and missed all 11 three-point attempts.
