The opening reception for the traveling exhibit of Small Works on Paper was held Jan. 4 at the Mosaic Templars Cultural Center.
The annual juried show sponsored by the Arkansas Arts Council showcases works that are 18 by 24 inches or smaller by Arkansas artists.
After enjoying a buffet of finger foods and drinks, guests were invited to hear artists included in the show to talk about their work. Three artists received purchase awards with the works going into the Arkansas Arts Council's collection. They were Elissa Gordon of Mountain Home, Robert R. Simmons of Little Rock and Mitchell Skinner of Grady.
The art will be on display at the Mosaic Templars Cultural Center through Jan. 27, then will be shown in nine other galleries in 2018. The schedule is available at arkansasarts.org.
