ANGELS AT BRUNCH

Spreading their wings

Angels of Hope and moms dine at Marlsgate Plantation

The 30 Angels of Hope and their mothers traveled to Marlsgate Plantation in Scott on Jan. 7 for brunch.

The 11th-grade ladies represent the 20th Century Club by volunteering for at least 25 hours of public service. The Angels will be formally presented at the 20th Century Club's Hope Ball on March 3. The 20th Century Club's Lodge provides housing to cancer patients receiving treatment in central Arkansas.

Martha Ellen and Beau Talbot, owners of Marlsgate Plantation, welcomed the young ladies and their mothers into their home. Martha Ellen co-chaired last year's Hope Ball with Pam Morton and she is co-chairing this year's ball with Lisa Wright.

Amy Baden is chairing the Angels of Hope and Kristine Flaherty is the co-chairman.
