Police on Saturday arrested a Fayetteville man accused of helping steal more than 10 vehicles, the Northwest Arkansas Democrat-Gazette reported.

John William Gaunt, 23, was reportedly taken into custody after a car chase that began in Benton County.

Authorities already had a warrant out for Gaunt, who they believe stole 13 vehicles in December, along with Fayetteville residents Joe Kelly McDaniel, 37, and Whitson Casey Carlisle, 43, according to the newspaper.

The vehicles were said to be taken from Lewis Automotive Group at 3373 N. College Ave. and have since been recovered.

The Northwest Arkansas Democrat-Gazette reported that police said Gaunt was also involved in burglaries at Eureka Pizza locations at 2920 W. Martin Luther Kind Jr. Blvd. and 1905 E. Mission Ave., both in Fayetteville.

Gaunt's charges include multiple counts of commercial burglary and property theft as well as fleeing and possessing a firearm as a felon.

As of Tuesday morning, he was being held at the Washington County jail in lieu of $100,000 bond, records show. Gaunt is scheduled to appear in court Wednesday morning.
