Arkansas man, 34, dies in wreck on icy highway

An Arkansas man was killed Monday night when the pickup he was traveling in ran off an icy road and overturned in Missouri, authorities said.

The wreck happened around 7:40 p.m. on U.S. 63, about 5 miles west of West Plains, Mo., according to a preliminary crash report from the Missouri State Highway Patrol.

Danny C. McEntire, 34, of Hardy was pronounced dead at the scene, the agency said.

Authorities said the single-vehicle crash happened in Howell County, Mo.

Dan C. McEntire, 58, of Hardy was driving a 2003 Ford F-250. He lost control of the pickup on an ice-covered U.S. 63, causing it to travel off the road's right side, overturn and strike a tree, the report said.

The driver suffered minor injuries in the accident, the highway patrol noted, and was transported by ambulance to Ozark Medical Center in West Plains.
