The University of Arkansas at Pine Bluff has canceled its annual black history month assembly featuring award-winning director Spike Lee.

The event, which was set for Tuesday, was called off "due to unforeseen circumstances," a news release states.

The university plans to continue its speaker series with Faith Jenkins of the CW's show Judge Faith on March 6. That event will take place in the J.M. Ross auditorium of the Hathaway-Howard Fine Arts building.
