After more than 17 years in business, an Italian restaurant in Hot Springs has closed its doors, though some recipes are set to live on at the owners’ other downtown eatery.

Belle Arti Italian Ristorante, 719 Central Ave., was shuttered Sunday, according to a Facebook post from owners Jo and Penny Gargano.

“Belle Arti is where our patrons became our friends and these friends became our family,” the Garganos wrote, thanking the community for the “support and love we have received and embraced throughout the years.”

“It is where our children grew up, learned the value of hard work and aspired [to be] fine young men,” the owners said.

The Garganos said they will continue to operate The Porterhouse Restaurant at 707 Central Ave. in Hot Springs, where some of Belle Arti’s signature menu items will be incorporated.

Belle Arti’s staff will transition over to The Porterhouse, the post states.
