An Arkansan accused of fatally stabbing a man in November has been charged with murder, the Texarkana Gazette reported.

Jarrod Klein, 27, was found with multiple stab wounds behind the wheel of a Chevrolet Colorado that had crashed into a tree in a small vacant lot in the 900 block of Linden Avenue in Texarkana, according to the newspaper.

Officers reportedly determined the truck had traveled across a discount store's parking lot, over a curb and across the street before hitting an embankment and a tree and coming to rest.

Police then arrested Cameron Scott Halliburton, 28, after seeing him in the store's security footage and finding him wearing an empty knife sheath on his belt and a shirt with bloodstained sleeves, an affidavit cited by the Texarkana Gazette states.

Halliburton reportedly described Klein to authorities as his "best friend." He said the 27-year-old had dropped him off shortly after midnight and another man had struggled with Klein in the pickup, according to the newspaper.

The 28-year-old said he had to climb over the driver's seat and exit via the driver's-side door because the passenger's-side door wouldn't open. According to an affidavit, the door was functioning normally when examined by police.

Halliburton is being held in lieu of $750,000 bond in the Miller County jail, the Texarkana Gazette reported.
