2 suspects jailed in Northwest Arkansas shooting that left man hospitalized

FAYETTEVILLE -- Police arrested two men Thursday in a shooting Wednesday night that sent a man to the hospital.

Cory Martinez, 23, and John Gaylean, 22, both of Fayetteville, were arrested at 1 p.m. Thursday at 100 Tourmaline Way No. 6, according to a news release.

Gaylean was arrested on charges of aggravated assault, aggravated robbery, battery and felony possession of a firearm. Martinez was arrested on charges of aggravated assault, aggravated robbery and battery.

Police responded to a shooting about 8 p.m. near 1234 N. Boxley Ave. near West Wedington Drive, according to the release.

An ambulance took the man who was shot to a hospital with injuries that weren't considered life-threatening, according to the release. His identity and further information about his condition have not been released.
