The North Little Rock Housing Authority will host a planning session Monday for a new digital outreach program.
The Securing the Connection planning session will take place 9 a.m. to 11 a.m. at the Arkansas Workforce Services Center, 324 W. Pershing Blvd. in North Little Rock.
Securing the Connection is a new digital equity outreach program for the housing authority in collaboration with ConnectHome USA, a U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development initiative begun in 2015 at 28 public housing authorities.
The North Little Rock Housing Authority became a designated ConnectHome community in 2017.
ConnectHome’s public-private partnerships create a platform for community leaders, local governments, nonprofit organizations and private-sector stakeholders to produce locally tailored solutions for reducing digital inequality among public housing residents, according to the housing agency. It aims to promote access to the Internet, digital literacy and devices.
