Much of western Arkansas faces a marginal risk for storms to turn severe this weekend, according to the National Weather Service.
The agency’s North Little Rock office said the primary threat Sunday will be damaging winds across an area that encompasses Fort Smith, Russellville, Hot Springs and Texarkana.
A cold front is set to enter the state’s west Sunday afternoon and move across Arkansas that night, bringing the potential for showers and isolated thunderstorms.
“It may become warm and unstable enough for a few severe storms west of Little Rock,” the weather service said.
The high temperatures statewide are forecast to be in the 50s and 60s over the weekend.
