Two arrested in connection with Wednesday night shooting in Fayetteville

FAYETTEVILLE -- Police arrested two men Thursday in connection to the shooting that put one man in the hospital Wednesday night.

Cory Martinez, 23, and John Gaylean, 22, both of Fayetteville were arrested at 1 p.m. Thursday at 100 Tourmaline Way No. 6, according to a news release.

Police were called to a shooting about 8 p.m. near 1234 N. Boxley Ave. near West Wedington Drive, according to the release.

An ambulance took the man who was shot to a hospital with non-life threatening injuries, according to the release.

His identity and further information about his condition haven't been released.

Gaylean was arrested in connection with aggravated assault, aggravated robbery, battery and felony possession of a firearm. Martinez was arrested in connection with aggravated assault, aggravated robbery and battery.
