Cleanup volunteers invited to sign up

Keep Little Rock Beautiful is signing up volunteers for its annual March cleanup.

This year's City Wide Cleanup, in concert with the Great American Cleanup, is March 10 from 8 a.m. to noon.

This is the ninth year the city has participated.

"We have made great strides in improving the appearance of the city," said Suzanne Hirrel, the event's coordinator.

Keep Little Rock Beautiful asks neighborhoods, organizations, businesses, churches and other groups to organize cleanups. Keep Little Rock Beautiful will provide trash bags, safety vests and gloves for registered cleanups.

A registration form is available online at keeplittlerockbeautiful.com/get-involved.

Registration applications are due by Feb. 15. More information is available by emailing info@klrb.org or calling (501) 765-3530.

"You and your friends, coworkers, club or church members can make a huge difference," Hirrel said. "Our goal is to empower and energize the citizens of Little Rock to take action in the areas of litter prevention, community improvement, recycling, waste reduction and beautification."
