BLOCK PARTY

Public Radio funds are party's purpose

The temperature outside was dropping but The Rodney Block Collective was heating things up in the Junior League of Little Rock building on Jan. 11. The band was the Block in the fundraiser called Block, Beer and Bourbon, which raised money for University of Arkansas at Little Rock Public Radio.

The evening began with a VIP pre-party, which provided a chance for tasting beer and bourbon not available during the rest of the evening. Beer and bourbon for the tasting were provided by O'Looney's Wine & Liquor. The Pantry provided stick-to-your-ribs food perfect for a winter evening -- including Hungarian Sausage Vegetable Lesco, Cheese Spaetzle with Pecan Smoked Bacon, and Caramelized Onions and Smoked Baby Back Ribs.

Interim Little Rock Public Radio Director Nathan Vandiver thanked guests for attending and said the evening was about supporting public radio, which "provides cultural and informative programs that will enrich your life."
