Man buying iPhone robbed, report says

A Little Rock man who went to a gas station Thursday to buy a cellphone was robbed at gunpoint instead, police said.

The 22-year-old victim said he arranged the purchase of an iPhone X on the letgo app. But when he arrived at the parking lot of the Kum & Go at 7620 Baseline Road in southwest Little Rock shortly before 5 p.m., someone got out of a black Ford Focus and into his vehicle, a police report stated.

The robber then pulled out a gun and pointed it at him, according to authorities, and told him to hand over his money.

After he gave the gunman $550 and his cellphone, the robber got back into his car and left, heading south on Chicot Road, the victim told police.

Police seek gunman in game store heist

Police are searching for a gunman who robbed a video game and electronics store near the University of Arkansas at Little Rock on Thursday.

An employee at the Game X Change, 3412 S. University Ave., told investigators that the robber entered the store about 11:30 a.m. and browsed. He then asked for the price on a PlayStation game before inquiring about buying an iPhone, according to a Little Rock Police Department report.

The employee said he showed the robber two phones. Then the male assailant asked another employee to exchange five $1 bills for a $5 bill but instead pulled out a handgun once the register was opened, the report stated.

The gunman took the two iPhones and the PlayStation game as well as an undisclosed amount of cash before leaving the business and heading north, authorities said.

Game X Change is in a shopping center on the west side of University Avenue across the street from the University of Arkansas at Little Rock.
