30-year-old man arrested in shooting at Arkansas residence, police say

Authorities on Sunday arrested a 30-year-old man in a Russellville shooting, according to a news release.

Russellville police responded around 12:41 a.m. Sunday to the 1100 block of East Ninth Street for a report of a "disturbance where shots had been fired," according to the release.

Offices arrived and found two males lying in the front yard of a residence, the release said. One of the males had gunshot wounds, but both were taken to a hospital in Russellville, authorities said.

The release said the shooting victim was later airlifted to UAMS Medical Center in Little Rock.

Russellville police arrested Joseph Ramirez in the shooting and he was taken to the Pope County jail, according to the release. He is being held pending a felony bond hearing, the release says.

Ramirez, the release said, was taken to the jail after being released from the same hospital in Russellville where the shooting victim was initially taken. The release did not specify if Ramirez was the second person found outside of the residence.
