San Francisco architect to speak in Little Rock

A San Francisco architect will discuss her design philosophy of humane modernism in Little Rock in February.

Anne Fougerson, principal of Fougerson Architecture, will speak at the Arkansas Arts Center, 501 E. Ninth St., on Feb. 13. The lecture is at 6 p.m., with a reception at 5:30 p.m.

Fougerson’s presentation will focus on how a building’s surroundings affect its design.

“Whether she is transforming existing buildings or creating entirely new environments, her thoughtful, rule-bending designs address the aspirations, opportunities and challenges that come with each project,” a news release said.

The event is presented by the Architecture Design Network.
