An 18-year-old is accused of threatening to take a gun to an Arkansas community college Wednesday morning following an argument with another student, authorities said.

Officers responded to a threats call at Northwest Technical Institute, 709 S. Old Missouri Road, about 9:40 a.m., according to a news release from the Springdale Police Department.

Administrators put the school on a brief lockdown until the student who made the threat, later identified as Tyler Hunter, could be located, the release states.

Investigators who contacted Hunter reportedly were able to ensure his well-being and determine he was not a threat to the school. The 18-year-old was charged with second-degree terroristic threatening and disorderly conduct, authorities said.
